Welcome to the homepage of the Welsh Corgi, Pembroke lovers from Meppel in the Netherlands.
Let’s introduce ourselves:
We are Domien and Marianne Leemans and our children Karlijn, Teun and Bob. We have since several years Welsh Corgi Pembrokes and are totally devoted to this breed.
Why Welsh Corgi Pembrokes?
During my study at the Agricultural Highschool I had an internship on a dairyfarm. They had two Welsh Corgi Pembrokes. By day, these dogs were perfectly nice and quiet in the yard. But in the early morning and evening as we get the cows they became very active. Together they brought 60 cows to the milkingstable. Since this time I am in love with Pembrokes. My wife and children wanted a family dog later. For me this had to be a Corgi. They were not convinced initially, but after a visit to a breeder, they changed minds. After a long search and wait we found a perfect puppy in Belgium, Lizzy. A fantastic bitch. She has been the course that we all five love the Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is bredin England to drive cattle. They are bred solittle to easily layer under the fences and when the cow kicks backwards, it kicks over the dog. As a family dog they are ideal. It is everyones friend, especially for children. They are good and stick to the yard.
They love company. They prefere to sleep up to your feet, like to take long walks and runs and are very affectionate. In short they are the ideal family dog. Of course they also have a disadvantage: buy a good vacuum cleaner. Twice a year they molt with the result that the whole room is full of hair.
